I love gaming.
Pretty shocking revelation, I know. Still, I've been gaming for nearly as long as I can remember. My first system was an original Gameboy that I got for my ninth birthday. I've logged more hours playing Super Metroid than I have driving a car. My cell phone plays the secret area tone from Legend of Zelda when I get a text, and the boss select theme from Mega Man 2 when I receive a call. In short, I'm a gamer, born and bred.
I'm also an aspiring journalist who spends far too much time watching other people write about video games. I'm a daily visitor to sites like Kotaku, Destructoid, and countless others. I post in forums and comment sections, lurk on message boards, and listen to podcasts, all while wishing I could write about gaming for a living.
One day, while listening to yet another Destructoid podcast, I said "fuck it," whipped up a quick graphic, and created Critical Hit, a place for myself and others to discuss gaming and everything that comes with it. All the major gaming blogs had to start somewhere, and this is where Critical Hit begins.
